In 2001, my parents brought us to Australia for a better future. I excelled in all of my subjects and in 2004, I received a scholarship for high school in the ‘lighthouse program’ where exceeding students in Forest Lake State High School (FLSHS) were grouped in one classroom. During this time, I participated in various extra-curricular activities ranging from student mentoring, academic game shows, choir, and even cheer-leading.
Yes I was a nerd AND a cheer leader
By 2007, I was doing work experience as a junior graphic designer with Shout Graphics (Browns Plains) during my senior high school years and at the same time, managed to complete a unit in script-writing with the University of Southern Queensland (USQ).
After completing high school in 2008, I was offered the junior graphic designer role as a full-time position but was also accepted into a Bachelor of Photography with Griffith University. I pursued my studies and completed a semester on digital imaging, post-modernism, photo-imaging, and photographic practices. By the end of the semester, I decided that my passion lies with animation and began studying with QANTM College for a Bachelor of Interactive Entertainment (Animation).
I completed my degree in 2012 and went to an amazing two-day, Pixar Masterclass in 2013. This is where the adventure began…this is my quest.
The rest is in my resume
“The way to get started is to quit talking and start doing” – This is probably why Disney did the talking and Ub Iwerks was brilliant. I want to be like Ub.
