Tara Phillips is a Canadian-born, Sydney-based Game Artist. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Design (major in Illustration) from OCAD University, Canada’s “university of the imagination” and leader in visual thinking. Her education has taught her the value of effective visual communication, critical design thinking, and collaborative problem solving as well as a solid foundation in Art and Design fundamentals.
Tara considers herself to be a visual storyteller, which is why she’s so passionate about her role as an Artist in the Gaming
Industry. Her broad range of visual design capabilities include Concept Art, 2D Game Assets and Animation, User Experience, Branding Design, Web Design, User Interface
Design, and Marketing Art that is tied together by a keen eye for stories told through visual interaction.
She is currently Art Director at Snowed In Studios, an indie game development company based out of Ottawa, Canada. Her role in the company gives her the opportunity to be
involved in every aspect of game and application creation, contributing to game pitches, game design decisions, look and feel of projects, merchandising and marketing, and of course, game asset creation. She has loved the challenge of being a multi-facetted artist and continues to push herself to learn new techniques and applications for her ideas. She’s been passionate about gaming since she was a young tomboy, and hopes to leave her mark on the vastly growing and ever-changing industry of video games.
