Shining a light on real opportunities in computer games
Melbourne, May 9th , 2013 — Australia’s largest regional computer games career expo, Ballarat GiG: Get into Games, returns on the 17th and 18th of May and will showcase the industry with two days of demonstrations, the latest games to play, competitions and talks from local industry leaders.
Flashback is a Sydney event which started back in 2011 and with each year passing seems to be getting bigger and bigger. It takes place on the Queen's birthday long weekend (Saturday, Sunday, Monday) 24 hours non stop event and provides realtime programming, graphics, music, hardware hacks, animation competitions for all platforms, such as the commodore c64, commodore Amiga, console, and PC, This year we will have on show case workshops and a retro museum with classic computers from the good old days and for people who want to display, repair and discuss old hardware.

As part of the 'Making of' series in this year's Vivid Sydney festival, Bubble Gum Interactive will be having a special a one hour panel on the making of their free iOS/Android mobile game, JetPack Jinx.

IGDA Sydney are holding their regular Beer 'n Pixels meet-up next week, giving Sydney games developers the opportunity to get together, chat, and check out or receive instant feedback from their latest builds or game concepts over a beer or two in this post-GDC 2013 gathering.
