Responsibilities
The precise tasks can vary depending on what you bring to the table, but some of the outstanding responsibilities are:
-BASH and/or Python Scripting to increase production in our area of supporting the artists
-Digital security, managing and maintaining network and system security
-Local Network management
-Manage and troubleshoot hardware and software issues on user workstations running Linux, Mac, and occasionally Windows
-Assisting with other items such as power issues, building issues, and other general issues
-Ethernet cabling, power cabling, server setups and take downs, deployments

Qualifications
-Proactive, curious, energetic, troubleshooter
-Advanced knowledge of Fedora, CentOS/RHEL, and, OSX including software management and deployment
-Advanced knowledge of and experience with networking concepts and network implementations, including routing, VLANs, Firewalls, traffic inspection
-Advanced knowledge of DNS, LDAP, HTTP, HTTPS, FTP, SSH, RDP and other common protocols
-Advanced knowledge of automation tools such as Puppet or Chef
-Advanced knowledge of openLDAP
-Strong desire and ability to learn and apply new knowledge and techniques
-Able to lift a server or other similarly weighted item from time to time, independently
-Extremely proficient with gnu/linux rpm-based distributions
-Ability to lead in advanced troubleshooting without guidance for hardware, software and networking issues
-Advanced knowledge of hardware RAID, software RAID, LVM, ext3/4, NFS, CIFS/SMB, ZFS
-Advanced knowledge of network troubleshooting techniques using nmap, tcpdump, wireshark, iperf, iptraf, nettop, traceroute, etc
-Advanced knowledge of hardware including RAID cards, clustered storage such as equallogic, isilon
-Advanced knowledge of linux network commands including NetworkManager, host, nslookup, dig, ifconfig, IP, route, netstat, ping, iptables, etc
-Solid understanding of packet flow, tcp and udp transmissions
-Advanced knowledge of sysv, systemd, and the startup and login process for linux and OS X systems
-Advanced knowledge of virtualization concepts and implementations ( xenserver preffered )
-Knowledge of rpm repository mirroring and rpmbuild, for custom repos
-Advanced knowledge of security concepts ranging from file permissions to best practices and backdoor prevention
-Knowledge of VPN technologies including site-to-site VPN tunnels
-Knowledge of Elastic search, kibana, logstash

Pluses
-Familiar with visual effects shops, pipelines or similar
-Experience with squid proxies or other web filtering methods
-Wireless networking experience
-Video card experience (drivers, troubleshooting, Xorg, etc)
