About the business

Spree Entertainment is a small group of strategy enthusiasts developing our first title, Fiend Legion. Our goal is to deliver intense and challenging player experiences.

Fiend Legion is a tactical Collectible Card Game (CCG) featuring classic turn-based strategy that rewards quick-thinking and decisiveness in a dark-fantasy aesthetic.

Spree is looking for a talented back-end developer to join the team and help update and maintain the database and network functionality for Fiend Legion.

Key responsibilities

Liaise with our existing team to design, implement and maintain changes to the game server

Design and develop new tools and processes for the content pipeline

Server-side QA, including security, load-balancing, reliability, etc.


Good understanding of C# and the .NET framework

Good understanding of MySQL databases and transactional systems

Experience using cloud-based services, including Alibaba Cloud and Google Cloud

Experience using source control software (Git, SourceTree, Perforce, SVN, etc.)

Great communication skills and a strong attention to detail


Good understanding of the Go programming language (Golang)

Relevant qualification in video game development or computer science

Experience building and designing websites

Knowledge of best code and architectural design practices

Well-versed in the free-to-play market, latest trends and industry insights

Have a clear understanding of what drives key performance metrics such as retention, monetization and engagement; and the ability to analyse data to provide strategies for optimisation

A passion for games and, in particular, the mobile games space
