New Sydney indie developer, Flat Earth Games, announces first project

Flat Earth Games, a new indie games developer based in Sydney are working on a project which will please any of you who thoroughly enjoyed playing Civilization, Transport Tycoon, or Lightspeed in the 90's. The guys behind Flat Earth Games, Rohan and Leigh Harris, grew up playing those titles and they're planning to bring the exploration and crafting gameplay of those titles back with an added touch of building and strategy to their game mix.

(Rohan Harris) “These things have always held a special place in our hearts and we’ve been hard at work on resurrecting the core concepts which drive them to share the things we love with a new generation.”

The game will be in three quarter fixed perspective and is expected for a iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad and PC release later this year. Flat Earth Games have also announced that they're partnering up with fellow Sydney developer, Epiphany Games, who will be bringing on board their expertise in iOS development for the title...

“We’re immensely and disturbingly excited to be partnering with Epiphany,” added Leigh Harris, co-founder. “We’ve built our entire team from scratch, and simply couldn’t have done it without their commitment to the project.”

Some of you may recognise the names behind Flat Earth Games as the founders are no strangers when it comes to the games industry. You will have seen Rohan's work as a contributing writer for Telstra BigPond GameArena and Player Attack, and Leigh Harris is of course the founding editor of MCV Pacific and prior to that had a nine year stint as a PR for Rockstar Games.
