Mighty Kingdom’s ever-expanding team is looking for a rigging technical director to join us in Adelaide, South Australia!

Job Summary:
As a Rigging TD at Mighty Kingdom, you will work closely with the Technical Pipeline team as well as a multidisciplinary and talented team of programmers, designers and artists, on various projects ranging from Console to Mobile F2P and Premium titles.
You will be an integral part of the team using your artistic vision and technical skill to help animate realistic characters and enhance the immersion of a player into the game.

Qualifications/Skills:
-At least 2+ years experience in a game development studio or film/animation studio
-Some knowledge of working in Unity and similar game engines
-Demonstrated knowledge of Maya
-Technical fluency in a scripting language: C#, mel and python and/or API/programming experience
-Strong understanding of anatomy, kinematics and animation pipelines
-Familiarity with common data formats: XML/JSON/etc
-Familiarity with common 3D data formats: OBJ/FBX/ALEMBIC/etc
-Ability to competently rig and skin characters and props
-Ability to learn quickly and pick up various in-house and 3rd party processes, tools and APIs
-Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
-Strong technical background with detail-focused problem solving
-Passionate about working in game engines

Responsibilities:
-Develop realistic skeletal rigs for a variety of humanoids and complex creatures
-Build and maintain rigs currently in production using internal tools
-Assist in the creation of new rigs and rig components
-Perform rig maintenance and fixes during production
-Collaborate with the team to continue to develop internal rigging framework
-Create tools with the Maya API and MEL scripts to enable Animators to create realistic animation
-Work closely with animators to troubleshoot issues and ensure efficiency in the workflow, and to ensure that the productions needs met
-Proactively flag and solve potential problems to stay on schedule
-Work with Pipeline TD, Lead TD’s, Tech Artists and Animators to develop and integrate tools into a robust pipeline
-Engage in knowledge sharing to proactively expand the technical know-how of our teams
