Freeplay Presentation on New Gridwerx Site

Company
Location

Hi all,

Gridwerx attended FreePlay in Melbourne over the weekend, where we presented on the "Lessons Learned of an Indie Start-up". For those who missed it, it is available as a read-only PowerPoint file on our brand spanking new site - www.gridwerx.com.au.

It was a great turn-out, thanks for the hospitality of all those in Melbourne who shared a beer, a business card or a point of view.

Further, Gridwerx is seeking some futher collaborators to supplement our growing team - please shoot me an email if you are Brisbane based, skilled and passionate to assist in one of the following areas on a part time basis:

- Assistant Producer/Game Designer: We are looking a talented producer/game designer to assist with keeping the team on track and the gameplay fun. Prior experience with game design and/or project management, particularly on RPG PC titles a plus. Broad experience with creative and technical environments beneficial. Must have a commitment to a longer term view with the company.

- Level Designer: We are iteratively refining our level design, and seek a crossover team member with deep level design and build experience. Familiarity with Hammer, 3DS Max and Torque engine from GarageGames optimal. Skill with texturing, game flow and asset placement also important.

- Webmaster/Community Manager/Marketing: Our community is important to us. We have ported our site to Mambo CMS server, a PHP/PERL system with a MySQL back end and currently are using Snitz forums, with plans to move to SimpleBoard. We need a dedicated resource to manage our site updates/blogging, community newsletters and assist with preparation for other marketing activities.

If you are interested, you need to be prepared to work with us on an after-hours basis (as our team has "bread an butter" jobs in the day time to pay the bills) to develop a prototype to pitch at the Australian Game Developer?s Conference in December 2005 with a view to getting publisher funding to develop a full commercial release.
