2 x Level Designers (Fixed Term Contracts)

Torus Games is a highly skilled and talented computer game development studio that has developed over 95 titles since 1994. We are now looking for two experienced Level Designers to join our team in Bayswater.

Key Requirements

  • Create level walkthrough documents.
  • Construct 2D and 3D level layouts.
  • Create level collision, and create physics based constructs and puzzles.
  • Design, prototype and refine gameplay experiences and dynamic scenarios.
  • Lay out AI networks, and design combat encounters.
  • Place cameras, and animate scripted in-game cameras.
  • Write simple scripts using Torus’ proprietary scripting language
  • Experience in the industry with at least one credit of a completed title

Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of the level design process from initial concept to completion.
  • Familiarity with a 3D modeling package such as Maya or 3D studio Max.
  • Experience with a level editing package.
  • Experience using a layout/drawing package such as Illustrator or Photoshop.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of architectural principles.
  • Understanding of classic design principles.
  • Mod creation and/or custom playable levels.

Bonus Points

  • Experience using packages such as UDK or Unity.
  • Programming/scripting skills and experience.
  • Published written game or design related articles (tutorials, reviews, etc).
